Our Story

Nestled in the heart of nature, Sunset Creek Wildlife Sanctuary is a haven for Australia's native animals and a peaceful retreat for those who seek to reconnect with the natural world. Our sanctuary is home to an abundance of wildlife, from curious kangaroos and playful wallabies to an array of native birds that fill the air with their calls. As night falls, the sky transforms into a breathtaking display of stars, offering an unparalleled view of the cosmos in the tranquility of the Australian bush.

Our passion for wildlife conservation drives everything we do. With a deep love for nature and a commitment to protecting Australia’s unique species, we have dedicated ourselves to rescuing, rehabilitating, and releasing injured and orphaned animals. Our primary focus is on macropods—such as kangaroos and wallabies—who are often left vulnerable due to habitat loss, vehicle collisions, and threats from introduced species.
To further our mission, we are working towards building a specialized macropod nursery, providing these precious animals with the care they need to thrive before returning to the wild. The sanctuary is also home to the rare and endangered yellow-bellied glider, a nocturnal marsupial that depends on healthy forests for survival. Protecting these unique creatures and their habitat is a crucial part of our conservation efforts.

To support our wildlife conservation efforts, we are excited to launch our adult-only glamping experience in September this year. This secluded retreat will offer guests an opportunity to unwind in luxury while immersing themselves in nature, with every stay contributing directly to the care and protection of our native wildlife. At Sunset Creek, our mission is simple: to preserve, protect, and provide a future for Australia's incredible animals while offering an unforgettable escape for nature lovers.
